My wireless laptop hasn’t been working and it says that the wireless network security key is not right. But how can I find out what it is so I can put in the right number?

why dont you just reset the router, its a tiny little round button on the back of the router
You can’t. The key is encrypted (hidden) and cannot be retrieved–that’s the whole idea. You can change it by reprogramming the WiFi router/access point using its administrator functions.
You can’t find out what it is. It is stored within the wireless program in an encrypted format (ie, *********) so if you do not know what it is then you will not be able to find out what it was by looking there.
You can either reset the router to defaults (which is no protection) or go into the admin panel within the router and change the password to a new one and then enter that into your wireless program.
Here is a nice walkthrough for setting up a wireless router and where to find the settings:http://www.microsoft.com/athome/moredone…
